Event details

Yoga Therapy and Modern Medicine for Seniors

For thousands of years, yoga has been used as a traditional practice to promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being. In recent years, there has been a growing interest in the scientific and clinical rationale for the role of yoga in modern medicine. Scientific studies have shown that practicing yoga can have a range of health benefits, including reducing stress, improving flexibility, and promoting relaxation. These benefits directly support several critical care needs, like fall prevention, preventing memory loss, supporting activities of daily living and promoting general wellbeing. This becomes particularly necessary for seniors, who are looking for a new lease to life, with reduced pain, illnesses and improved physical, mental and social health.

In our discussion, Dr. Khalsa offers his experienced views on the use of yoga for managing chronic pain, anxiety, depression, and other health conditions. Join us and get insights on specific ways in which yoga can be used as therapy for older adults, alongside conventional medical treatments. Learn how it can help to improve patient outcomes and overall quality of life.

Whether you are a healthcare professional looking to learn more about the use of yoga in modern medicine, or a patient interested in exploring alternative therapies for managing your health, this event is for you!
